Country Club Tennis - Staff

Mark Davis Facility Manager / Director of Tennis

Mark comes to us from Delaware. He started his love of tennis in his early teens. He played for his high school and college teams. He started teaching tennis while in college in the local community parks and recreation department. After graduating from The University of Delaware, his love of teaching continued as he became a physical education teacher and athletic director in a private school in the Newark area where he continued teaching and coaching the school team. Mark has also been a long time USTA league participant. In 2013, he participated in the National senior games in Cleveland, where he and his doubles partner earned a 4th place award. As a USPTA teaching professional, Mark is excited to be a part of this beautiful tennis community, and looks forward to working with all tennis enthusiasts.

Your ideas and suggestions are always welcome. Call Mark at 352-753-1317 or email him at

Dave Abbott Assistant Manager

Dave began playing tennis at the age of 8 years. His father was the Minnesota State doubles champion in 1938 and used to have to carry his net with him to the clay courts in Minneapolis. Dave continued playing until age 25 when lack of playing partners forced him to pursue his other passions of golf and downhill skiing. A neighbor reignited his interest at age 48 and he played USTA tennis at the Cascade athletic club in Gresham, OR for 4 years. Dave moved to The Villages one year ago and has enjoyed the beautiful tennis and golf facilities available here. He looks forward to working with The Villages tennis community and helping implement new ideas.

Mary Grant Assistant Manager

Mary has been involved with the game of tennis for the past 30 years. She has been close to The Villages tennis players since her arrival to “Florida’s Friendliest Hometown” in 2005 and has been with the Villages tennis program for over 4 years. She knows what the players are looking for and strives to make tennis a world class tennis experience for them. Mary is focused on creating an active and exciting tennis program and increasing the social aspects of tennis in The Villages. Look for more tournaments, leagues, and social events.

Ann Flint Instructor

Ann, originally from CT, has been a player and a teaching professional, as well as a tournament and event organizer. She has administered leagues and junior and adult tournaments, including state and sectional league championships, corporate events, and fundraising events. Ann will be available for private and group lessons, team coaching, and senior doubles strategy lessons.

Mike Frank Instructor

Mike has over 40 years experience teaching, playing and coaching tennis. Prior to coming to The Villages, Mike was a certified instructor at West End Tennis Club in New Orleans. He remained there until Katrina destroyed the tennis club. Mike’s motto is "keep the ball in play until you can put it away".

Luis Olmedo Instructor

Luis is a USPTA certified teaching pro and has been teaching tennis for over 30 years. He has taught both nationally and internationally. He was a Peruvian Tennis Champion and traveled on the tennis tour briefly in the 70’s where he won at the US OPEN.
